Falkland Islands referendum 2013: the past 12 months

Over the past twelve months, the Falkland Islands dispute has greatly intensified due, in part, to Argentina’s increasingly assertive claims over the Islands, the 30th anniversary of the 1982 conflict, the political lightening-rod of the London Olympics and the announcement of a referendum to be held on 10-11 March 2013.

Below we have provided links to a number of articles, featured on this blog and elsewhere, from Klaus Dodds and Alasdair Pinkerton that reflect on the past 12 months of strained Argentine-UK-Falklands relations.

Klaus and Alasdair will be in the Falklands for the referendum next week and will be blogging frequently about the process and its wider geopolitical implications.
