Violent Listening – Steven Connor lecture, RHUL, Friday 21st Feb

Steven Connor will give a lecture titled ‘Violent Listening’ on Friday 21st  February  2pm in RHUL’s premises at 11 Bedford Square, London

Steven Connor is Grace 2 Professor of English in the University of Cambridge and Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambridge. His most recent books are Paraphernalia: The Curious Lives of Magical Things (London: Profile, 2011), and A Philosophy of Sport (London: Reaktion, 2011). He has two books forthcoming: Beyond Words: Sobs, Hums, Stutters and Other Vocalizations will appear from Reaktion in February 2014; and Beckett, Modernism and the Material Imagination will appear from Cambridge University Press later in 2014.

Steven’s talk forms part of a series of lectures within the Listening Workshop, organised by the Humanities and Arts Research Centre (HARC), at RHUL.
