I’ve been meaning to blog about Brett Holman’s Airminded blog for a very long time. Now is good enough as any as his long awaited book is due out next month. Titled The Next War in the Air: Britain’s Fear of the Bomber, 1908-1941, will be published by Ashgate and builds on Brett’s PhD.
Brett’s blog has been a stunning resource for any interest in airmindedness, and comes packed full of original sources, commentary and very useful bibliographies. It is also a fascinating example of how a blog can accompany a research project and take it to much wider audiences.
He writes about the volume here, and a new direction of travel for his future work that reminds of some of the really good contemporary research Newcastle geographer Matthew Rech has conducted on British military airshows.
Looking forward to the book winging its way through the post.
